Northern Nights 3

In November 2025 we were delighted to present Northern Nights 3. An immersive residency of teaching, collaboration and performance, in the inspirational setting of Rauland, in the heart of Hardanger fiddle country in Norway. 

We invited 4 great musicians from the north and west of Ireland; Bríd Harper, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, Becky Ní Éallaithe & Cathal Ó Curráin, and paired them 4 great artists from Norway, Unni Boksasp, Astrid Garmo, Magnus Wiik and Lars Erik Øygarden. They collaborated for a few days, exchanging tunes, songs and dances from each tradition, did a little teaching, and had lots of fun.

This project, funded by the Arts Council's International Residency Initiatives Scheme, continues with today's performance here at Fiddle Fair, and culminates with a show at Røros Folk Festival in Norway in June.
