About Beth Orton from her MySpace page:
Comfort of Strangers, Beth's latest and fourth album, was recorded in two weeks and features Beth Orton on guitar, piano and harmonica - along with Jim O'Rourke on bass, piano and marimba - and the esteemed American percussionist Tim Barnes on drums.
The 14-track album was recorded at New York's Sear Sound studio in the spring of 2005, with the much-acclaimed musician and composer Jim O'Rourke as producer. O'Rourke -- most recently guitarist and bass player with Sonic Youth -- has previously worked on recordings by such diverse groups and artists as Wilco, Stereolab and the noted American guitarist John Fahey.
Beth Orton composed all the songs, although the title track was written in partnership with O'Rourke and singer-songwriter M. Ward.
